Camarón

It is also known as a prawn. It belongs to the Caridea family. It is a decadopodus crustacean that can live both in freshwater and salt water. It lives in warm, tropical and cold regions. It inhabits rocky and sandy areas that are not very deep and with a lot of algae.
As adults they eat algae and remains of animals, although they can eat anything that is edible. As larvae they feed from zooplankton. They are grey in colour or transparent with dark strips on the abdomen that define the segments that the body is divided into. They reproduce on our coasts from April to September: It is one of the most highly appreciated seafood and its meat is considered to be exquisite.
